Two monumental sculptures at the Changchun CR Center in Northeast China

Changchun, China

Alejandro Vega Beuvrin has completed the permanent installation of two monumental sculptures at the Changchun CR Center, a landmark mixed-use development in northeast China designed by Goettsch Partners and Lead8 for China Resources Land.

Developed in collaboration with Purpleroof, this project integrates Vega Beuvrin’s stainless-steel sculptures into the architectural and cultural identity of the CR Center. Installed within the building’s grand lobby, the works stand as visual landmarks that reflect the city’s spirit of resilience, growth, and innovation.

Each sculpture combines mirror-polished and matte metal finishes with warm orange tones inspired by Changchun’s city flower, the Clivia miniata, symbolizing vitality and continuous renewal. Together, they create a dialogue between art, architecture, and public space, marking Vega Beuvrin’s first permanent project in Asia.
