T-Center Nanjing · March 2026
Some projects demand more than documentation. This video, recorded on inauguration day at T-Center Nanjing, brings together three moments that define what this commission was: the installation process, the work in its final context, and Alejandro speaking directly about what he set out to communicate.
The footage shows the sculpture taking its place in the plaza — the technical complexity of anchoring a 520-centimetre steel structure in an open urban environment, the scale that only becomes real when a person stands beside it. Then the work as it exists now: permanent, public, in daily dialogue with the city.
Blossom Rising marks Alejandro Vega Beuvrin’s third permanent sculpture in China, following Snowmelt Dawn and Eternal Blossom at CR Center Changchun (2025) — consolidating a sustained presence in the country’s most ambitious urban development projects.
“I wanted to show a work that presents exactly this.” — Alejandro Vega Beuvrin, inauguration day · Nanjing, March 2026
In the interview recorded on site, Alejandro speaks about what Blossom Rising was conceived to transmit within this specific project — not as a general statement about his practice, but as a response to this plaza, this development, this city.
Blossom Rising was commissioned by CITIC Pacific Properties with curatorial coordination by Purple Roof Public Art.
